For many years, Banda Nova Aliança used the facilities at St. Anthony's Parish Hall in Pawtucket as their headquarters for meetings and band rehearsals. After many discussions, a decision was made to build a home that the band could call its own. Through donations from many members and anonymous donors, including the dedication of time and effort by many volunteers, the home became the reality that everyone is proud of. The list of volunteers is large, including many band members, without which the construction of the home would have taken much longer. To them, we are all very grateful. However, one individual stands out and deserves recognition for his efforts during the construction of the home, Luis Estrela. In addition to playing tenor saxophone for the band, his leadership, craftsmanship, selfless dedication, and ability to make others laugh while hard at work was critical to the completion of the project. The countless hours and hard work that he and others contributed have resulted in our beautiful home. God bless Luis Estrela and all the other individuals who helped for their tireless commitment to Band Nova Aliança during the construction of the home, some photos of which can be seen here.

Members of Banda Nova Aliança are mourning the loss of Carlos Vieira. He was a founding member of the band and served on the Board of Directors as the Assistant Secretary for Jose Mancebo. His passion for music lead him to become a band musician, where he played the snare drum for many years. His artistic ability can be found on the emblem embossed on the band's official flag as well as the banner of Saint Cecilia (the patron saint of music and musicians), both of which he designed. He was also an unwavering fan of his favorite soccer team Sporting Clube de Portugal. He will be missed by all who knew him. May God bless him and his family in this time of sorrow.

Banda Nova Alianca would like to thank Aidan Blanchette, former band trumpet player, for his years of commitment. His musical ability was sky high and a welcome addition that helped solidify the band's musical sound. As a bonus, his faith and presence brought a smile to everyone around him. It is no surprise to all who knew him that he heard God's voice and is following the call to serve His people. There is no doubt that he will bring the good news and be a vessel of hope for those needing it the most for decades to come. Banda Nova Alianca wishes him the very best in Seminary school and in all his future endeavors.
